Hello, my name is Richard A. Chafetz. For over 15 years I have been helping my clients obtain the best mortgage possible when purchasing a new home or refinancing their current home. I’m willing to take the time and explain everything you need to know clearly and concisely. We will review your short- and long-term financial goals to help you through one of the biggest financial decisions you will make. My team and I are dedicated to making the home buying process as smooth and hassle-free as possible. We offer many different mortgage loan programs including FHA, VA, Conventional, Jumbo, and USDA. We also offer first-time homebuyers mortgage loans with down payment assistance up to $7000 (must meet qualification requirements). We run all operations in house and our knowledgeable and experienced team can solve issues and get answers in a matter of minutes. By constantly updating our loan programs and pricing based on market patterns we can ensure that we deliver extremely competitive rates combined with optimal mortgage structuring. When I’m not helping my clients buy homes, I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to live music, and rooting on the Chicago sports teams. Our five-step mortgage process starts by applying online and getting pre-approved within 24 hours. This will require you to provide us some basic financial and personal information. We will take that information and get back to you with a pre-approval letter.

Getting pre-approved determines how much we are willing to lend, allowing you to shop for homes with confidence. Sellers will take your offer more seriously when you have a pre-approval from a lender. With this complete, you can now start your home search.

Finding the right home takes time, there are many things you need to look for and work out with the sellers. Once you find the home you would like to purchase, make and offer, and come to an agreement with the seller, we will submit your loan to our processing team.

This may seem far from simple for people, but Neighborhood Loans has you covered! The mortgage loan processor is the link between your loan officer and underwriter. We collect and verify all the documents necessary to prepare your loan. This is arguably the most important part of the loan process.

After you’re cleared-to-close, we will schedule your closing and fund the loan on the day that is most convenient for you. After the final documents are signed, you will be given the keys to your new home! We look forward to helping you through our home buying process.
