Kent Cook is a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer specializing in residential mortgage lending for 1-4 unit properties in Colorado, Illinois, and Wisconsin. With decades of experience in the financial industry, Kent works remotely as part of Don Grudzinski’s team based in Schaumburg. His career began in December 1986 with HFC’s Management Training Program shortly after graduating from Indiana University. Inspired by the opportunity to grow and develop in the field of finance, Kent has since built a reputation for delivering accurate answers, exceptional results, and empathetic client service. Among his professional achievements, Kent proudly holds recognition as Sailor of the Quarter twice during his time in the US Navy and has been honored by Presidents Councils at HFC and American Portfolio. Kent’s work ethic is driven by his commitment to leaving no task incomplete and ensuring his clients' needs are met with precision and care. He believes in listening intently to his clients’ wishes, concerns, and fears and addressing them through education and empathy. For Kent, the most fulfilling aspect of his work is helping clients achieve their dreams of homeownership. Our five-step mortgage process starts by applying online and getting pre-approved within 24 hours. This will require you to provide us some basic financial and personal information. We will take that information and get back to you with a pre-approval letter.

Getting pre-approved determines how much we are willing to lend, allowing you to shop for homes with confidence. Sellers will take your offer more seriously when you have a pre-approval from a lender. With this complete, you can now start your home search.

Finding the right home takes time, there are many things you need to look for and work out with the sellers. Once you find the home you would like to purchase, make and offer, and come to an agreement with the seller, we will submit your loan to our processing team.

This may seem far from simple for people, but Neighborhood Loans has you covered! The mortgage loan processor is the link between your loan officer and underwriter. We collect and verify all the documents necessary to prepare your loan. This is arguably the most important part of the loan process.

After you’re cleared-to-close, we will schedule your closing and fund the loan on the day that is most convenient for you. After the final documents are signed, you will be given the keys to your new home! We look forward to helping you through our home buying process.
